“After only looking through our home for about 15 minutes said that they wanted to put in an offer. .”

Read Gabby’s story below to find out what she thought of selling her home online without an agent.

Q: What services did PropertyNow provide, that assisted you most?

The SOLD-How-to-Sell-Your-Own-Property-Now book
The website was so easy to use with helpful videos on every step

Q: Were you hesitant before trying private selling? What made you decide to give it a go?

Yes, I was a bite hesitant to start with but after doing the research it didn’t seem to be that hard, and the SOLD-How-to-Sell-Your-Own-Property-Now book gave me so much information that I felt confident that I could do this.

More to the point we have been selling on Amazon for a few years, and if you can deal with Amazon you can deal with anything.

Q: Do you have any interesting, fun or unique stories to share about your experience?

You were right about agents contacting us.

One said, and I quote ‘Not a good idea. I do this everyday for the last 10 years and if you think you can do as well as me in
achieving the best possible result you are dreaming.’

He did end up calling me and apologising for being so abrupt.

Our back door neighbours wanted to purchase our home but just couldn’t meet our asking price, so I went ahead and listed
the property on PropertyNow. I took all the photos with my iPhone and my husband Lloyd wrote our listing.

Our sign turned up a few week late but in time for our third home open week end. It was drizzling on that last Sunday and I didn’t think we’d get many people through, but we did get a few.

The people renting the house across the road came over for a stickybeaks and I invited them in, in my usual happy way.

It turns out that the owner of their place has put the house on the marker and they now have to move, so deciding to buy instead of rent they started looking at homes with in our area not knowing that our place was up for sale. But then our sign went up.

After only looking through our home for about 15 minutes said that they wanted to put in an offer. I gave them a blank Letter of Offer
that they took with them and about 10 min later they were back. The offer was for more than our asking price, and with the market
starting to turn down and all the interest rates going up by the day, we thought we would take the offer. After all it was still more than
we thought we’d get and they were really nice people that were so exited to be buying our home.

They had already applied for a loan when they first found out that they had to move, and it has now been approved. So on the 11 January we will move out and fly to Malaysia to live and they will move into their new home.

Q: When you sold your property yourself, how did it feel?

Selling the house myself fells sooooo good. I still can’t believe how easy it was. Was it empowering? You bet it was.

Q: What are you going to do now?

After read the book ‘Sell Up, Pack Up, Take Off’ we did a 2 month trip to Penang Malaysia and fell in love with the place, so now we are going to sell off all our stuff pack our cases and moving to Malaysia to live on a semi retired live style working online.

Q: What do you plan to do now that you’ve sold, how will the sale benefit you?

Money from the sale will go into our superfund and will allow us to live a very comfortable life style in Malaysia.

Q: If you could go back in time and give yourself some advice before selling your own home, what would it be?

Get the settlement agent to fill out the contract for sale.
We did get it done but we did miss one or two things. Nothing big just ticking some boxes and adding the finance time frame.

Q: What was the hardest part for you personally and how did you overcome it?

Not having our For Sale sign to put up. Australia Post lost the sign and it finally turned up on our last home open week end.

We are Australia's best reviewed online agent
