What sites do you market my property on?
We market your property on all of Australia's major Real Estate sites including -
Realestate.com.au, Realestateview.com.au, Realestateworld.com.au, Domain.com.au, Homehound.com.au, Propertyow.com.au, RuralView, Google Maps, Ninemsn.com.au (via links to REA), Ebay (via links to REA).
|
Don't realestate.com.au forbid private sales on their website?
No they don't. They used to, but changed their policy and announced in 2011 that private sales were acceptable via the system that PropertyNow uses.
Realestate.com.au is completely aware of the PropertyNow business model and your listing is absolutely permitted. It is true that some other companies have been removed from realestate.com.au because of the way they approached their business but PropertyNow has remained.
Private sales are not allowed on realestate.com.au unless through a Licensed real estate agent (such as PropertyNow) and by using a methodology like PropertyNow does.
|
Is there any commission when using PropertyNow to access all these sites?
When a sale is made using our services no commission is payable. We only charge a very small upfront marketing fee. There are no hidden charges and definitely no real estate agent commission payable upon sale.
|
Is PropertyNow a Licensed Real Estate agency?
Yes, PropertyNow is a Licensed real estate agency. The Licensee is Andrew Blachut. License Number: 1593561.
|
How long has PropertyNow been operating?
PropertyNow invented agent assisted sales in Australia in 2005.
|
How successful is the PropertyNow system?
The system is amazingly successful and it's because any property listed at the correct price and marketed as heavily as we do is very likely to sell. Just about the only way to fail when selling your house via PropertyNow is to overprice it.
|
What do you do apart from market my property?
We manage your enquiry and assist in a range of services that you may require such as negotiations. We offer you as much free support, help and advice as you could possibly want. You can speak with a Licensed agent in PropertyNow at any time to discuss the selling of your home.
|
Who does the negotiations?
We can do it for you for free or you can choose to do your own negotiations. We are delighted to negotiate on your behalf free of charge, but we do not insist on it because many clients prefer to do this themselves.
|
How many sales has PropertyNow created?
We have marketed to sale over 700 properties around Australia.
|
How do I make changes to my advertisement?
You can make changes inside your admin area at any time and there is no cost. Changes allowed include: text, heading, price and images.
|
Is my phone number in the For Sale ad?
No, defintelty not. Your listing will appear on realestate.com.au and it is expressly against the Terms of Service of realestate.com.au to include a private sellers phone number or any reference to private sales. Your listing carries the PropertyNow logo and PropertyNow contact details.
|
Will I be automatically billed each month?
No, it is not a recurring payment. You have complete control over your listing and the billing. This means you will need to log in to your account and renew your listing each month.
|
How come I can't see any PropertyNow listings in my suburb or town?
When you think about it, this is the wrong question to be asking. What is important is that realestate.com.au and domain have listings in just about every town in Australia. PropertyNow has hundreds of it's own listings but that is not really relevent.
|
How come there are real estate agent listings on PropertyNow?
PropertyNow supports both For Sale by Owner sales and Real Estate Agent sales as well. Agencies can list their properties for free on PropertyNow but, of course, we do not export their listings to the portals.
|
I can't find the service I need in the PropertyNow Directory.
If you can't find a service such as Photography or Conveyancing in your local area, inside our Services Directory, then call us and we will source one in your local area for free. When we contact them on your behalf we will have them call you to provide a quote to use their services.
|
What do I do if I am not getting enough enquiries?
All enquiries, whether email or phone, are given your contact details. If you are not receiving sufficient enquiry it may well be that you are priced too high for your current local market. While we can never guarantee a sale we can certainly guarantee the widest marketing exposure for your property. You may need to consider lowering your price or waiting for the market to rise.

A real estate agent told me that Realestate.com.au will not accept Private Sales
For more than a decade REA (realestate.com.au) did not accept private sales on its website. It now does accept private sales under certain circumstances only and via a licensed real estate agency such as PropertyNow.
The CEO of realestate.com.au stated in 2011 that REA had been out of step with industry regulatory practices in relation to its Private Sale Policy.
This statement by REA is perfectly in line with the stance PropertyNow has held in relation to realestate.com.au for over half a decade.
PropertyNow has been central to several watershed moments which have changed the selling and marketing of Property in Australia.
|
What does PropertyNow do if a real estate agent enquires about my property?
When a member of the public enquires we act to place both parties in direct contact. From time to time a real estate agent may enquire about your property either legitimately or as a means to obtain a new listing.
The PropertyNow policy in such an event is to place the agents details before the owner for consideration. We do not give out the owners details to an agent unless under express consent from the owner. In this manner all parties interests are well served. Please be aware that some agents do not inform us that they are agents.
|
Why can't I see my listing on Realestate.com.au or Domain?
Either the listing has not yet propagated or possibly you may be looking under incorrect search parameters. Very rarely, the listing is indeed missing. In the vast majority of cases it is not. Please check very carefully before informing us that your listing is not appearing and always wait at least half a day to give the websites time to pick up the listing. This is because they all auto update their listings at different times throughout each day.
|
Why is the Google map displaying my property's location incorrectly?
This happens infrequently but when it does it is completely beyond the control of either PropertyNow or the portals. The address must be the correct legal address of the property to give the best chance of a correct display on the Google maps. We suggest using the address on a Government document such as the council rates record etc.
On the rare occasions that the maps show an incorrect location, it’s quite often because you are listing the property in a neighbouring suburb that shares the same postcode. In any case doing so is not permitted. Also a Google map may be inaccurate if you can only give us a lot number as opposed to a legal street address.
If the Google map shows the wrong location you can try several things such as – create an image of the true location and send it to us, we will then upload that with your other images. You can try to amend the legal address to more accurately represent the right address. And if all else fails you can have us make a note in the ad text which points out the error in the mapping. Disconnecting the mapping is not an option.
|
Will I get a refund if I sell earlier?
No. We do not offer refunds for succeeding at the objective.
|
How is my enquiry handled?
When people phone us (7 day a week) they are clearly informed that the property is being sold without an agent . They are given your phone number and we ask them to call you immediately. If an enquiry is emailed to us then we also answer that enquiry by email. The email includes your contact details and both you and they get a copy.
|
Does PropertyNow answer questions about my property from enquirers?
Absolutely not. Apart from the fact that it might be illegal to do so, we could also lose our real estate license as we are marketing but not selling your property.
|
Does PropertyNow give out my details without asking for the enquirers details first?
No, we do not. We insist on a minimum of a name and a phone number always. Where possible we also request an email address. If a name and phone number are refused then we do not proceed in giving the person your details. This is very, very rare.
|
Can you help me with advice, for e.g. what to do when I get an offer?
It is our pleasure to provide free non-legal general advice at all times. We also have resources on our site that can assist with many queries but always feel free to phone for a chat if you are unsure about anything. Andrew, the owner of PropertyNow, is a Licensed Real Estate Agent with over 15 years experience within the industry. Please take advantage of his knowledge and expertise.
|
What is my role in selling?
You should arrange a solicitor for your contract and have it prepared ready for a buyer to sign. Your major role is rather simple and that is to arrange the viewing and to take an initial offer to purchase. Your primary task is to simply get Offer and Acceptance on Price. When that is agreed the Deposit should be taken and sent to your solicitor. Or better yet, have your solicitor take the deposit in the first instance.
|
If I get an offer and acceptance should I keep marketing?
Absolutely keep marketing and showing the property until ‘unconditional exchange’ is achieved and a deposit has been paid.
|
Because Realestate.com.au don't like private sales will my PropertyNow listing be disadvantaged?
No, it gets treated exactly like any other agent listing.
